We just reopened and server and started rewriting the code with the original idea we had in mind back in April of 2011. It's April 2012 and it's time to roxor your soxors!

Epic R Us - Official Update Announcements
I first would like to start off by thanking our regular players, you have given me many ideas, and exposed me to many possible problems that would make a project like this possible.
As of 4/25/2011: Epic R Us will no longer be updating or changing any of our running plugins, we will continue to run "as is" for the next few weeks. During this time I (Ronn) will be rewriting and updating a lot of plugins that I didn't think were very efficient or very useful and trim the fat so to say and make this game what I intended for it to be. Using 3rd party developer plugin's is not an efficient way to go about this, as a lot of them can become bloated with time along with updates to the API, and MC Server updates, with using my own personal code I can quickly update, run and power my own plugins' in better methods, than I could waiting on someone else.
I want to make a few quick notes here about what's going to happen during this transition:
1. Changing Plug-in's can and can not destroy a map. I do not know what will happen when the Sama Suite takes over for all the other plugin's and starts managing the server itself. It may destroy the world, and take it back to a just "gen" state. If this happens, I'll go back thru profiles and such, and reimburse most of my regular players a fraction of what they had invested. Sorry new game, new map, I can't let ya'll be TOO far ahead.
2. Bans that were imposed before, will remain imposed. This is no exception. You wanted to be a dick, so you can stay gone.
3. If the map is replaced, Nubleton will be replaced with a spawn center town, this town will be small in nature, and sell ONLY the basics. The rest is player drive.
..... Ok now we've gone over the quirks, lets hear some of the great stuff coming.
1. Classes - Yes classes, we are gonna have several classes that have specialties vs. other classes. I won't go far into detail so it's all a surprise when it's released.
2. Chat - Chat has already been overhauled in a more MMO fashion. We are not aiming for MMO I remind you. You can talk, but only people near you, hear you. Global chat is available, at a cost per message. A question channel is available, and it's abuse is being muted.
3. Towns & Factions - Both will be available. A faction maybe part of a town, or a town part of a faction, it matters not. Towns will collect sales taxes on all items within their borders, as well as have weekly elections to handle the leader and mayor of the town. This is experimental in nature, however player region claiming and player faction claiming will all be automated by the server.
4. Stupid Newbie Catcher - Ok, newbies aren't stupid, but we do get some stupid ppl every once in a while that ask all the questions that the beginning town answer, cuz they were too lazy to go read a sign. So I'm tired of telling em one thing over over. When new players log in they are frozen and muted. They have to go thru a series of prompts, to real the rules, how to play the game, and answer questions afterwards that make sure everyone knows how to play.
5. Server Driven events - No more player driven events, the server will automate events everyonce in a while, such as monster army, spleef, guild wars, etc.
... Sounding fun? There's more to come as the plugin's go into further development, these are base ideas that the framework has already been laid out for.

As of Bukkit release 711, Epic R Us, is back live, everything is working fine, except for MobRider, please join us when you feel like it.

Temporary Server Status
As of 4/20 (*snicker*) I have backed up all world files, and then reset the world to a vanilla state, this will support MineCraft 1.5_02 which is the latest "stable" release. Until the time that Bukkit is updated, we will run Vanilla servers, when Bukkit is returned we can restore the world to it's normal state.

Epic R Us - Downtime
As of 4/19, and with the Minecraft 1.5 server update, we are closing the server and backing up world files. These files will remain persistent until the new Bukkit API's are updated and installed by the host. During this time I will be learning the new Bukkit API and reprogramming many of the things in EpicRUs into a style that is more befitting of our title.
